About Me | Michelle K. Matson | Seattle Domestic Violence Counselor
Who I am
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a graduate degree from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology. I am a member of the following organizations:
American Mental Health Counselors Association
Center for Object Relations
Northwest Alliance for Psychoanalytic Study
I volunteered at the Washington Correction Center for Women in Gig Harbor, Washington. I taught groups of women in Domestic Violence 101 and 102. I also met with women for individual counseling as a Domestic Violence Counselor.
My areas of focus include:
Domestic Violence
PTSD and Trauma
Life Transitions
Emotional & Relational Issues
Love Addiction
Codependency
Addiction
Depression
Anxiety
My passion is to help people heal from trauma and abuse, including grief and loss. I desire to help them identify those places in their lives where they feel burdened or overwhelmed.
It is easier to identify symptoms of trauma and abuse in other’s lives than in our own, especially when we are in the habit of putting our needs and wants at the bottom of the list.

I enjoy gardening, reading, and walking. I have four grown children, a wonderful daughter-in-law, and three beautiful grandchildren. I am married to my best friend, Dave. We love being by the water, cooking together, and share a passion for music.
I am a lifelong learner and love to travel, although I am a Seattle native and absolutely think it is the best city to live in! My Christian faith is foundational to everything I do and to who I am.
